A NOTORIOUS businessman who has left a string of failed ventures in his wake has emerged as a key figure behind the company sponsoring AFL club Port Adelaide.

Former bankrupt Donald Brownlie Fleming - whose failed businesses have cost investors and banks more than $30 million over 15 years - and wife Dee Dee are major shareholders in the company behind the Power's My ATM sponsorship deal.

Mrs Fleming, 60, is a direct shareholder in My ATM Holdings Ltd while Mr Fleming, 64, is a joint owner and director of a company with his wife, Shulamite Pty Ltd, that has the largest single shareholding in the fledgling business.

The My ATM Holdings Ltd share register shows that between them, the pair have 52,065,325 of the 186,065,000 issued shares in the company with fellow shareholders - including former federal MPs Grant Chapman and Ross Cameron - also holding significant parcels.
