The luddites simply don't get it.
Some are just too ignorant to even open their eyes. However, that's no surprise when you look at some of their comments on other modern phenomena.
If precision fermentation lives up to expectations, agricultural products such as grass fed meat will be pushed out of the market simply on price.
At the end of the day people are controlled by what's in their wallets. If meat that looks the same, cooks the same and tastes the same is significantly cheaper, they will vote with their feet.
I'm sure the luddites said that fast food wouldn't take off either. Look where it is now.
