it is possible to pick up young early cross dorper ewes for meat value in the fat pens,and for underdone ones,that is not much.
for anyone with stored feed,the chance to pick up a scanned in lamb mob of older merino ewes with wool for 90 bucks is starting to show up, and there is no hurry to pounce either.
herac,todays grains market is fear and weather driven,and price targets formed from history aren't part of my pricing this year.
and my example is that this year is more likely to be half production of last year per acre,and i only cropped half the area. if i was looking at having forward sold a quarter of last years crop,that would be all i am looking at growing,with no hope of capturing a 'dry season premium'.
