Today ALK is mainly gold miner that has been constantly adding to it's resource base.
During times of turmoil folk seek refuge in gold. This is essentially what happened during the 2008 crisis when the gold price dipped briefly and then carried on it's upward march.
I suppose/hope something similar will happen during this crisis.
