Food prices are moving up. Look at milk!
For us that has an effect, but for China and India, it has a much larger effect. If food prices increase in Australia by 20%, then it effects us as say 10% of our income is spent on food, although my experience says 20% - 30%. But if food prices increase in China and India by 20% and they are already spending 50% on food then it spells real problems and trouble for those countries. It may in the end force the Chinese government to revalue their currency. ie their imports become cheaper, but their exports will become more expensive. Saving grace may be that all of Asia will have to follow suit.
