I like your response. Nice and even.

I'm glad that you haven't been keeping abreast of developments because it makes it easier for me to cream your profits from you.

For people who actually think seriously about these things and who keep up with what's been going on in the world (rather than just watching Oprah and Dr Phil), you will know that the majority of third world countries have been suffering hard commodity crises (oil, wheat, rice, soya, etc.).

Why don't you let me in on a secret: Tell me, when was the last time you can remember there being a physical shortage of any basic commodity in an advanced western country?

Hmmm.....hard question, isn't it?

The fact that shortages in basic foodstuffs has migrated from the thrid world into the first world should make you sit up and take notice.

This is something which I have never seen in my lifetime, therefore it gives me pause (more than that, actually).
