    cheers @kpkp

But!, b-b-but, butt.... its all about personal responsibility y'know..... all those workers are just lazing on the beach instead of going to work hehehe....

According to Morrison/Perrottet each worker is responsible for ensuring their own health status and maintaining their employment by protecting themselves against virus infection. its therefore their own fault for being a close contact or contracting the infection.

... and for the businesses who oversee their employees, they must have failed in their responsibility to ensure their workers were adequately protected from the virus. with this reasoning, the PM and Premier are justified in not giving any financial support to workers or businesses.

your post goes further to appraise the value our businesses place on their workers. Pay people adequate to their value and keep the economy thumping along.... pay them less and the profit might rise a bit but the economy slumps, less people have enough to have disposable income or savings and businesses struggle.

its a false economy to downgrade the value of employees.

the Fed and State Govts have absolved themselves of responsibility. hence we have a failed state of care and our covid numbers are rocketing up and, where we were once around 140th on the list of infection management (inverse numerically of course) we are now Number 1 with new cases and No. 49 in total cases.

this is the effect of neoconservative "liberalism" (an oxymoron) which sees only the immediate perspective and not the longer game that is needed to control the infection and keep the economy recovering.
