Thats odd DTrad to have a fear, but it isn't a fear of flying, it's a fear of not being in control...I flew ultralights for years along with light aircraft, Cessnas and Pipers mostly. Remember when we were learning to control an aircraft.."you have control...I have control...when your trainer passed control of the aircraft over. I sometimes have thoughts too when flying commercially, like...are these guys up front able to handle an emergency? When you are piloting your own plane you are in control, if you screw up you know you are the only one to save yourself.
