I dislike long flights not for fear of accidents but for some strange reason I get really claustrophobic with extended flight times & claustrophobia has never been something that has affected me anywhere else in even confined spaces. Anyway some tablets &/or booze to put me to sleep and hey presto i'm there :-)
Maybe a bit off topic but I saw a musician play in Australia last year (I had previously seen them overseas) first Australian Tour in 30 years because of his fear of flying. Great effort made though sold out every show in Australia to fans that thought it would never happen for the above reason - travelled US to Australia 3 weeks by boat then Melb / Adel / Perth / Syd / Qld by road ! That's dedication :-)
