Hey BM
Would like to check something you mentionned ...
"They need 50% of votes cast AND 75% of the shareholders voting. Its this second one that gives the little guys like us the ability to stop the sale, because it doesn't matter how many shares you hold - you count as one shareholder only."
Not sure this is the same interpretation as from the Scheme of Arrangement which stated..
"The Scheme requires approval by at least 75 per cent of votes cast by Prime security holders (other than Brookfield Infrastructure) and support from the majority by number of such holders who vote."
Would seem like they only need > 50% of shareholders...and not >75% or have I misundertsand something?
If >50% of holders is required then the call to arms is even greater as I agree with your sentiment re value (ie being ripped off) and that small shareholders need to make the effort to vote when the time comes.
Supporting View?
If anyone has a view that the BAM takeover should be supported (other than to bring this mess to an end) then I would appreciate knowing the reasoning.
