Yes the Roy Hill mess as was because Samsung and Roy Hill were irresponsible for expecting everything on the cheap and at speed, but NWH were partially responsible (irresponsible) in taking it on anyway. I feel the lesson was well and truly learned and do not expect management to be trapped again.
I see the Adani mine in a different light in that an entrepreneur is talking the talk and expecting everyone else to use/risk their capital so he can just clip the ticket of the coal tons that go by risk free. Leaving the risk takers/capital providers to be the miners, rail owners or port owners.
IMO the mine is unlikely because there are not enough fools with billions to spare. Yes the government is making support noises but not providing money. It wants to clip the ticket too.
