I am all for free kicks against Fremantle but i agree and I can't see the need to continually change the rules.

However ruining the game comes to mind.

Hopefully they will get somebody in who controls the game and doesn't allow the continued erosion of the game via these stupid rule changes

Maybe do a reset back to a previous date. Maybe go back about 5 years or so for the rule reset.
