Agreed lot of strange rules, pushing in the back one that comes to mind, it used to be for pushing someone blatantly in the back during a marking contest or when they were about to kick the ball but it seems to be more for if you land on their back no matter how soft.
The player who holds the ball into the opposition player during a tackle trying to get a free kick should be penalized, the rules was put in to keep the game flowing
High tackles were about clotheslines etc ie hard hits, they have gone overboard with high contact imo
These rules make the game much more complicated for non followers to understand
