Collingwood's defender (#30 guernsey) was clearly pushed in the back, but the Sydney player was awarded the mark, goaling easily.
I'm not a Collingwood supporter, but this stupid umpiring decision, coupled with the no-protest rule, destroyed both their season and their crack at the Grand Final.
It shows that the only way to guarantee a victory, to compensate for flawed umpiring (AFL is the biggest culprit of all sporting codes IMO) is to be at least a "2 goals better" team than the opposition. That is an umpiring bias (at worst) of between 10 to 20% - a laughingly bad indictment, nonetheless, against the code of 'professional' Aussie Rules.
