No wonder Damien Hardwick is squealing, Sydney is never supposed to get a positive umpiring decision, just like GWS and all the other Victorian clubs.
Perhaps AFL House thought interest in the competition outside Victoria was waning and wanted the punters back. I hear Freo also won.
All the crowds and fans outside Victoria might have had enough of all the one sided umpiring and the way non Victorian sides are treated all the time.
Perhaps the parochial Victorian sided umpiring is becoming bad for the AFL’s business?
Sydney and Freo winning is a start, but they need more than a couple of wins, more Premierships outside Victoria are needed IMHO a and probably Sydney/ GWS premierships for the AFL to maintain its value.
