4DS Memory has a significant partnership with IMEC, aBelgian-based research and innovation centre considered a global leader innanoelectronics and digital technologies, where they have a developmentagreement to collaborate on advancing their memory technology.

4DS is developing a high-speed,low-energy memory technology called PCMO ReRAM, and IMEC is playing a key rolein its developmenttodemonstrate the scalability of 4DS technology to advanced nodes.

This technology is designed for applications likehigh bandwidth persistent memory for Big Data and AI, aiming to bridge the gapbetween DRAM and NAND flash. The core invention lies in the area-basedinterface switching mechanism that enables high speed, high endurance, and tuneableretention characteristics.

The technology aims to overcomethe "memory wall" bottleneck, where processor speed outpaces datatransfer rates, particularly in AI and high-performance computing.

Unlike other ReRAM technologies,4DS's ReRAM uses a different physical mechanism for switching between high andlow resistance states. This mechanism is called Area Based InterfaceSwitching.

This unique switching mechanismallows for faster data access and higher endurance compared to traditionalmemory technologies.

The technology also allows fortuning the retention characteristics, which means the ability to store data fordifferent durations.

As a leading research hub, IMEC provides4DS with access to advanced facilities, expertise, and potential industryconnections.

4DS is currently working with IMEC, Infineon Technologies LLC (Germany’s largest semiconductor manufacturer with a market capitalisation of more than €40 billion • Revenue in fiscal year 2023 of more than €16 billion • employs about 58,600 employees worldwide • has 69 R&D locations; and 17 manufacturing locations) to design and build a custom ReRAM Test Chip.
