    That's a fair point. We know that battery performance drops in the cold.

    Although, if your only strategy to avoid freezing on a road is to drive a petrol or diesel car then I think you need to revisit your planning model.

    On the other side of the coin, you could run your seat heater only rather than try and heat the whole car and then you'd have heating for much longer. Also, it is more likely that you will leave home with a full tank in an ev ( overnight charging ) than with an ICE car.
