Imagine three hours of traffic jam, battery flat, what are you going todo?
There is practically no heating in an electric vehicle over extendedperiods
If you are stuck in traffic during the night, no battery energy left, noheating!!!
Call the breakdown services to collect women and children!!
They can’t even get there because the roads are choked!!
When the road is cleared no one can move, (flat batteries)!!
How are the hundreds or thousands of cars going to be recharged?
It’s going to be the same in the summer traffic jams.
That’s going to be perpetual jams with dead batteries.
(But nobody talks about it!)

That's a fair point. We know that battery performance drops in the cold.

Although, if your only strategy to avoid freezing on a road is to drive a petrol or diesel car then I think you need to revisit your planning model.

On the other side of the coin, you could run your seat heater only rather than try and heat the whole car and then you'd have heating for much longer. Also, it is more likely that you will leave home with a full tank in an ev ( overnight charging ) than with an ICE car.
