    Agree with your points but unfortunately whilst MSM ownership remains concentrated very little will change. Private or public (Gov't) ownership of media is equally bad but it is what it is.

    Governments around the world have generally baulked at diluting ownership and hence influence of MSM moguls. In Oz, two past PM's are being ridiculed and pilloried in some quarters for having the gall to call for change in media ownership laws which are effectively directed at Murdoch.

    Arguably, a far more dangerous development is the rapid growth of extreme fringe views and "news" which are also deceptive and deceitful to their core. These as we know are peddled on the web, chat rooms and forums such as HC, Twitter, FB and their like....

    on a personal level i routinely access at least seven or eight distinct "news" distinct sources daily, some paid, some free, to help form an opinion
