Irrespective of how long takes to pull apart a mouse, ANP is aware of this and by the start of December were confident that they could state that the results will be out within 31 days. So now up to another two weeks to wait.

Regarding Sarepta, who had sales of its dystrophin drug of $233 mill in Q2 this year, they seem to be able to afford to offer an enticing partnership deal with ANP for, say, only the US market. SRPT held $2.1 billion in cash on their balance sheet a year ago and despite losing over $200 mill in only the second quarter, should still have enough for an attractive deal with us. They need ANP to prevent their product becoming obsolete if ANP decided instead to link up with another dystrophin biotech company.

Wall Street does seem to be looking more favourably on SRPT with its share price having risen 22% in only the last month to $126, giving a current market cap of US$11 billion. A deal with ANP giving us at least $100 mill upfront with Present Value of likely future payments of royalties and sales milestones of another $500 mill would be a minor bump in the road for the company, would help protect existing sales currently at $1 billion a year and most likely enhance those sales by perhaps 50% from offering a far more effective product to DMD sufferers.
