The placebo effect is real. However from Dr Voit himself.. the placebo effect has no effect on Non Ambulant DMD boys. Their muscles are too far gone and the decline is real and known. No amount of Hope or positive thinking will help their muscles.
It will solely come down to whether ATL1102 has an effect on the muscles in itself.
There are 700 muscles in the body.. delivery of a drug that can get all around the body and have an effect before the body’s natural inclination to remove it is imperative. This is a major issue with most treatments for muscular dystrophy. ATL1102 seems to be able to get to all the muscles and have an effect is now something the scientific boffins at ANP are quite confident of.
