I read Alecfra's post with two contrasting thoughts:-

a) On the positive side, a potentially world changing technology may, at last, have reached its potential, a potential that eldued so many.

but

b) that it took an awful lot of money, at least one financial failure, expenditure well over $100 million by a world leading Japanese manufacturer (Sumitomo).

The fact that the Chinese (through Prodent Energy, a company I have had personal dealings with) company has at last allowed the technology to blossom, just shows what can happen when technology isn't surrounded by financial engineers but real ones.
