Not much action over here, so I thought I'd link to an article discussing the potential for submarines to become obsolete, due to underwater drone swarms.
Aquabotix gets a mention, as quoted below:
"One example is the 3.7-pound SwarmDiver drone developed by Aquabotix, which can be tossed over the side of a boat and remotely controlled by a human operator as shown in this video. The current system already has an application for mine-countermeasure missions, recovery of unexploded ordnance on the seafloor, port security and port defense."
Hopefully Aquabotix can begin to build on some of this coverage. More progress updates (or announcements of any kind) would be a start.
Have to wonder whether anything at all positive came out of the apparently successful ANTX demos. No word of Navy contracts, or anything to speak of (yet).
