I find the Daily Reckoning to be particularly useful for long term trends.

They were harking about gold back in 2001-2 when it was 300 an ounce.
They were forecasting the commodities run well in advance of the euphoria.
They have been forecasting the demise of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the US dollar as well for at least 3 years.
Megatrends make mega profits.
We are now in the age of the Asian Megatrend.
