the only reason power bills are going up is because no power station has been built since the 1980's because no one wants to invest in another coal fired power station. meanwhile population keeps growing.
at some point polititions will have to do the right thing and get nuclear power plants in. Then the price of electric will drop throught he floor and all these solar panels on peoples roofs will turn into eye saws devaluing the price of their property!
