re: timed local calls - it's a matter of time It should not be sold.
In fact the government should buy back the half it has sold as Telstra is one of the few government enterprises that makes a profit which can be used to fund government programs.

I find the idea of Australians buying something from the government that we already own quite appalling, and the biggest con the government has ever pulled.

They will probably waste the money from the sale too. Who is better off as a result of the sale of the first half?
Anyone at all ????? Someone like to say how they have directly benefited ???

In a fully privatised Telstra expect prices to increase, service levels to fall and taxes to go up to compensate the governments loss of revenue in years to come.
