why not say there might not be a delay instead?

it is like if i was to sell a house, and said to the interested buyer, after they had put a deposit on it, that the house may have earthquake damage or electrical cable chewed by rats that might be living in the walls.

one could be forgiven for thinking that such overtly negative comments is deliberate down-ramping

'coincidentally', and quite conveniently, that would be in line with the share-swappers agenda or interests.
as you say, there is an excellent argument for management not giving two hoots about punters investment.

imo, this kind of attitude has being going on for years
