Gram-meters can be a useful way to compare drilling results. To calculate the gram-meter value you just multiply the thickness of the intercept by the grade.
    • 10m @ 5 g/t Au would be a result of 50 gram meters
    • 1m @ 50g/t Au would also be a result of 50 gram meters

However these results would have different ramifications for mining. When looking at drilling results/gram meters you need to put them in context of the likely mining style/depth of the intercept etc. Thick, consistent intercepts at a shallow depth will favor open pit style mining (for example WINU which will be a bulk tonnage operation) compared to narrow, high grade intercepts at depth which would favor an underground, stoping approach where the ore is specifically mined, leaving the waste rock. Bulk underground mining can be achieved via 'block cave mining' which Newcrest are currently looking into for Haverion.

When mining does take place at Minyari/WACA it will be open pit with the possibility for underground 'block cave mining' if further drilling can delineate the tonnages required.
