The Paladio Group has bought north-west Western Australian company Decmil for $50 million.
Decmil is a civil works and accommodation village building company that was started in Karratha in 1979 by Denis Criddle.
Mr Criddle will retain a 19 per cent share in Paladio and a seat on its board.
Richard Wright, the managing director of Paladio, says as part of its group Decmil will have the chance to expand interstate.
"The acquisition of Decmil provides a very, very strong strategic fit for the Paladio group by expanding our client base, particularly in the north-west where Decmil have been for 30 years, and secondly by expanding our group's capabilities and services as there is no overlap between our existing businesses," he said.
Paladio went into a trading halt on Friday ahead of investor briefings this week.
