Re; Dr Elliott & shorting - IMO the whole point about the ethics of shorting is contained in this paragraph:

..."On the dark side, there are trading companies that take advantage of the fact that shorted shares do not have to be delivered for a few days. They can hammer a stock with massive short sales, not bothering to borrow shares in the first place. When the delivery date arrives, they close their positions, and then a new wave of 'naked shorts' comes in because unethical people tend to operate in packs, conspiring to attack a stock. I saw an interview with the CEO of a company whose shares had been attacked this way. At the peak of the campaign the short position exceeded the total number of shares issued by the company. That is not shorting - that is a crime."...

If Dr Elliott knows of these practices / companies IMO it behoves him to inform authorities, otherwise IMO he appears to be complicit!

The ASX daily short sales list has revealed that shorts account for up to 100% of traded stock - atm including so-called banned financials & even small cap stocks! Our regulators are allowing stocks to be hounded relentlessly by what can only be described as 'orchestrated shorting'.

Most of us expect 'The Market' to be fair & transparent, except perhaps some of those reported by the media as having willingly invested with Madoff etal & other as yet to be divulged 'dark organisations'. IMO as the time comes for these institutional shorters to cover their positions they will just declare bankruptcy - the money will have fled, perhaps leaving a fall guy to take a convenient public wrap.

IMO our regulators have so much to pursue they will never catch up - our confidence in 'The Market' has already been destroyed & shorters have played a major part in destabilising the global economy!

    As they say; "History repeats."
