imo this is what happened.
phil has been busy trying to negotiate this deal and placement but share price has been continually dropping
so phil organises for deal to be leaked to the afr - their knowledge was a little too precise imo
this gives phil an opportunity to put the sp in a trading halt to stop any further price declines and maximise placement price
