We might all have to start thinking soon about what sort of takeover price we would accept for our shares! In any event, I think he’d wait until after divi payment date on Oct 13 as, psychologically, that’s when some short term shareholders sell (despite record date - passed - being the key).
The 11 days between then and Oct 24, which is the last date the GAO can announce its ruling on the $US$3.3 billion cutter contract, will be particularly interesting. If the contract is waved through (and he will have his antennae finely tuned on signals here in advance), then ASB likely becomes a little more expensive for him.
Expecting to see price action at the moment reflect the remaining shorters trying to cover.
