i disagree. People read charts - a discrete variable sampled at close of trade - daily or weekly. When people do 'technical analysis' trading, they only pay attention to the discrete variable. Unfortunately there are many that buy into the pseudoscience of technical analysis.
Additionally, all the news and charting reports on performance firstly show these discrete variables.
