Don't worry about offending, I've dished it out at various times and am not so precious that I can't handle a bit myself(what was it anyhow?Didn't notice).
Thanks for the tip about honey/sugar in water, I'll give that a try and see how it looks in the morning, might turn out ok. Warmth and hydration cure a lot of things given time.

Thanks for that about WIRES. They seem a bit useless up here( between Gympie and Maryborough Qld) tried to notify them of an injured roo on the road. Spent ages (over an hour or so)trying to get hold of anyone who could help, continual runaround. Ended up calling the cops who shot it.
