''You always turn things around because you are a looser,''
that'd be 'loser' dear
''You think everyone else is a dickhead''
oh, no - but, I do go on evidence
I also spot irony when I see it ------
Louisiana ----- wants signs plastered in classrooms saying 'do not kill'
but in Louisiana
You can even take your gun to church if the reverend says it's ok? - how nice of them
- Open carry is generally allowed in Louisiana without a permit
- Concealed carry requires a permit
but - WAIT FOR IT --------- in good old Louisiana - your kiddie can own a rifle or a shotgun ------- at any age
they're really tight on handguns though - the kiddy must be 17
so - the kiddy can have a GUN - but, also must have the 'thou shalt not kill' sign in the classroom
uh huh ----------- like there's no mixed messages in that lot - is there?
Here are the key points regarding the minimum age for children to possess guns in Louisiana:
1. There is no minimum age to possess rifles and shotguns in Louisiana[1].
2. Louisiana law generally prohibits juveniles (defined as people under 17 years of age) from knowingly possessing a handgun[1].
3. Federal law sets stricter age limits that supersede state law. Under federal law, the minimum age to purchase firearms from a licensed dealer is 18 for long guns (rifles and shotguns) and 21 for handguns[5].
4. While there's no state minimum age for long gun possession, Louisiana law does prohibit selling or delivering any firearm to a person under age 18[1].
5. There are some exceptions to the handgun possession prohibition for juveniles under 17, such as when attending a hunter's safety course, target shooting at an established range, hunting with a valid license, or possessing a handgun at home with parental permission[1].
6. To open carry a firearm in Louisiana, a person must be at least 18 years old[3].
In summary, while Louisiana state law does not set a minimum age for possessing long guns, federal law effectively sets the minimum age at 18 for purchasing. For handguns, the minimum age of possession is generally 17 under state law, with some exceptions. However, it's important to note that federal age restrictions may impose stricter limits in practice.
