Australia the smart country....NOT. How embarrassing...we're almost at a point where we cannot manufacture anything in this country any more. I have no doubt Holden will suffer the same fate sooner or latter. It's almost hard to believe that our well designed and built cars could not stand the test of time, yet poorly designed & built import cars have flourished.

It has been clear for the last 2 decades that our Australian way of living has changed. We no longer a have a need for large cars to tow caravans during school holidays any more, and unfortunately both Ford & Holden have failed dismally to recognise this. Or, most likely restrained from designing and manufacturing smaller vehicles by US management.

Bathurst will no longer be the same without a locally made Ford on the grid! Which explains the introduction of Nissan & Mercedes in the V8 Supercars.

Perhaps this is the wake up call that we needed to have!
