True, but right now the vast majority of articles is centered on new and future battery production, not some failing batteries.
The magnets, and required RE elements for the motors those batteries will be powering, are very rarely mentioned. We in the West are concerned about the PRC becoming too dominant in some industries — well, we ought to be worrying about where those motors and their components will be coming from.
