wrxsti – amazing, I get called a nut several times by you and you come up with that absolute gem of a post! The Catalyst promo was about MBP's obesity drug even though it was stated to be an 'exercise pill' and until someone actually contacted the ABC, it wasn't clear if the story was about MBP. There will be no 'surprises' in the story and if even if there were, don't you think investors would have been told about it first rather MBP releasing this to the media first so they have inside info????? The interview would have been recorded some months back as these shows aren't like the daily news or 'current affairs' who report on events that happened in the last few days. Catalyst would have done a lot of stories late last year before the Christmas/New Year close down so they have stories to go to air for the new series (I have been involved with ABC science programs before and that's exactly how they usually run – several months lag time). MBP would have been happy to be interviewed as the drug was still progressing along. Wouldn't surprise me if they added a little at the end as an update or even pull the story.
