My biggest concern is synthetic graphite which is made from a byproduct of hydrocarbon refining - meaning the market that EVs is taking away from (Oil) could easily flood the graphite market with cheap synthetic graphite.
My understanding is synthetic graphite is expensive to make but it is better quality for anode manufacturing. Does this mean synthetic will take over when it is produced cheap enough? Iit fact it can be.
