wrt the link that i recently posted, and reading on, it seems that ken ring, has also written books on "pawmistry" mmmm - that sums it up, and even though, it is possible for the moon to have some influence on the weather,, it is best not to take ken ring, all too seriously. to guess that it might rain (without reference to the quantity), in winter, and then if it does rain, does not really prove much

The author of many books, Mr Ring fails to mention on his weather website that he is the author of this piece of New Age mumbo-jumbo:

Pawmistry: How to Read Your Cat's Paws.

How to tell your cat's character and destiny by reading its palm, er I mean paw. Includes numerology, astrology, handwriting analysis (scatchings) [sic] and love-bumps on the head.
By Ken Ring, co-written with Paul Romhany

Initially I thought that this must be a spooof on palmistry, similar to books such as "Why Cats Paint". But no, Mr Ring is perfectly serious, not only in his belief in numerology, astrology, graphology and phrenology, ancient beliefs that have been comprehensively debunked, but that they apply to cats!

Another site selling Mr Ring's book provides more information:

Dismayed by the glaring lack of literature on the psychological complexities of [cats]… Ring… began experimenting with age-old tools of divination to open a window into a cat's inner self.
Ken Ring first discovered palmistry for cats at a psychic party two years ago. He has since devoted much time to conducting research in this revolutionary new field.

mmmm ken ring sounds a bit too much like a quack to me
