re: plasma tvs. I think it's much easier to just paint everyone who can't afford a house as being some how morally weak, or lazy, rather than concede housing is unaffordable.
A question: by what metric would you begin to concede that housing has become unaffordable? How many times net income would it need to get to? If you don't like that metric, use another.
