snork, emirates fuel costs are lower because their owners pump the stuff...that's commercial reality...aviation is a crap business to be in because margins are wafer thin...if you're making 1% you're doing well...i have no idea what qantas' future will be but i do know they can't compete with the emirates and etihads in the game...if our government is going to pump money in then i want them to take an equity stake and seats on the board...why not?
