The main ones we hear about (and make a big stink about) are in the democracies.
How about the stuff that goes on behind the scenes in the rest of the middle east, the eastern bloc and some of those shady Central/South American countries (Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia)? Well, we only get tidbits, but enough info to know not to want to know too much, especially if one travels there.
