i don't have a problem with foreign ownership of non commercial land. if an foreign individual wants to pay the going price so be it.
That extends to commercial land/operations as well.
I do have a problem with foreign entities owning assets and setting them up so that the income generated is whisked away offshore (legally) to avoid paying the 'Australian' level of tax.
This gives them an unfair advantage to their locally based competitors.( I know some Australian companies also set up their offshore havens)
So if its an Australian asset, I don't care who owns it as long as the income it generates is fully taxed the same as an Australian owned asset.
