In order to check whether the broker is reliable and efficient enough to join, I think you should first conduct an online survey and then write-down few brokers and then visit their local offices. If possible try to locate the broker on various forums where you can find the actual performance and acceptance of the broker. Also, don't directly join them after both the previous tests give positive results, you must try their DEMO for around 3 months and then consult few analysts who can suggest them.
