I'm not sure where to post this but hoping other people that might have used Forex CT in the past see this.
I used them in 2019, I hadn't traded Forex before so thought I'd give it a crack, I was very new to it, so decided to practise using small sums. I transferred $750 into my account and trade for a month or so, realised it wasn't for me (lost most of it) and decided to go back to shares.
My post isn't about that, but the last few days I've been receiving calls from some Russian sounding guys saying they are from ForexCt and returning our cash as part of the FCA investigation. I refused to give them any personal info, asked them to recite it to me (this was the 1st give away as Australian privacy laws don't let them do this) which they did. I then asked them how much they owed me (still hadn't given them any details) and they said 0.4 Bitcoin, of which I asked how it was held in Bitcoin, they gave me some waffle. Now I know I only transferred $750 and I'm fairly good at maths, so clearly doesn't equate to 0.4 Bitcoin. I questioned the value and then a supervisor came on (another Russian sounding voice) and said it was worth about $7,000, again I'm fairly good at maths, but it there was 0.4 Bitcoin, then Bitcoin at US$30k, doesn't add upto A$7,000 anyway. I said I'd call the FCA so they said they could provide documents from the FCA so I said, go ahead email them through and I'll call them, and then (the last red flag) they said they would send it via Whatsapp, which I laughed at and said wouldn't personal information like that be sent through more official channels than WhatsApp. I hung up. They phoned again 2 hours later, but this time from a Sydney number (original was Melbourne) so I assume the calls are being spoofed with Aussie numbers.
Anyway, the point of this post, is anyone who did invest anything at all through Forex CT, if you get a call from someone who sounds like this, please, please, please don't give them any personal information. People have already lost enough with this bunch of cowboys, please don't lose anymore.
