I think about my Opa everyday, even though he passed away 25 years ago. I was close to my Opa because my father was always too busy working. I remember one afternoon I had this sudden urge to leave work early, pick up my young kids and visit him before nightfall. Afterwards, I remember driving backwards down his driveway and looking at him in the rear mirror with tears in my eyes. I had no idea why.
He passed away early the next morning but I can still remember his smile even now.
