    Yes,

It hasn't been Saddam who has been co-ordinating Iraq's resistance/terrorist attacks from inside a hole. But the capture is a monumental symbolic act in a country where symbolism has been prevalent for more than a generation.

Car bombs kill nine in Baghdad

Two car bombs have exploded at police stations in and near Baghdad, killing at least nine people and shattering any hopes of a quick end to violence after the capture of Saddam Hussein.

A police official says the explosion ripped through the Zuhour police station at Husseiniyah village, 30 kilometres north of Baghdad.

A second car bomb exploded outside a police station in western Baghdad, injuring at least seven people.

The explosion at the Amiriyah criminal investigation department took place after police found and defused a car bomb at another post in the neighbourhood.

The wave of attacks came two days after US troops captured Saddam near his home town of Tikrit.

Saddam loyalists are blamed for most attacks on American soldiers and allied Iraqi security forces.

A car bomb killed 17 people at a police station west of Baghdad on Sunday.
