    good to see some people breaking it down, instead of being lazy and lumping it all together.

    but i disagree with the statement:

    "The two terms are fundamentally different and do not share a meaning in such a way that would make a racist attack on a religion possible."

    if the mass of adherents is essentially from the same place of origin, then such a "racist attack" is possible.
    too often this encourages an "us and them" mentality
    culture is natural and has it's benefits
    but too often what is thought of as culture (in terms of race or religion), is culture that had being tampered with and poisoned. An inability to discern between the two, leads many to take on the poison as part of the good culture.

    a sense of self, that comes from identification with any race (or religious belief), is a delusion.
    all creatures on this planet are brothers and sisters in birth, suffering and death.
    problems arise when that is forgotten.
