They're not "exploring" 300 miles north of Darwin. They took FID on Caldita-Barossa development which was discovered in 2005 and is backfill for Darwin LNG.
It has nothing to do with Dukas or its delays. Santos and Conoco (the previous operator) have been talking about Caldita-Barossa being the primary candidate to backfill Darwin LNG for nearly a decade now, long before Dukas came on the scene. It wouldn't have mattered if they successfully completed Dukas-1, there wouldn't be enough time to get Dukas appraised and online in time for backfill for Darwin LNG, and in any event the Amadeus-Darwin pipeline couldn't supply enough gas to do it. They are completely different projects with different purposes.
You'll have to come up with another conspiracy theory for why your CTP investment has failed to avoid responsibility for your own decision-making. Maybe it was the lizard people's fault?
