"Cinovec is an historic mine incorporating a significant undeveloped lithium-tin resource with by-product potential including tungsten, rubidium, scandium, niobium and tantalum and potash. Cinovec hosts a globally significant hard rock lithium deposit with a total Indicated Mineral Resource of 348Mt @ 0.45% Li2O and 0.04% Sn and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 309Mt @ 0.39% Li2O and 0.04% Sn containing a combined 7.0 million tonnes Lithium Carbonate Equivalent and 263kt of tin. This makes Cinovec the largest lithium deposit in Europe, the fourth largest non-brine deposit in the world and a globally significant tin resource. " (EMH report)
To get the zinnwaldite, mica, ore from 0.45% Li2O to 6% Li2O (for comparison with spodumene calculations) one would need to concentrate 6/.45= 13.3 tonnes of ore for each tonne of 6% LiO2 concentrate. Further processing could be done by SiLeach or LMax.
Spodumene can be found at around 4.48% Li2O (eg see Kingston tenements.) To get from 4.48% to 6% one would need to concentrate 6/4.48=1.339 tonnes of ore for each tonne of 6% LiO2 concentrate. Further processing can be done by SiLeach but not LMax.
So, if you wanted to process micas from Cinovec you would need to concentrate 13.3/1.339 = 9.93 times as much ore than you would if you wanted to process spodumene ore from eg Kingston.
Although this comparison is not exhaustive it prompts me to suggest that LIT has more than enough on its plate developing SiLeach, which seems to me to be extremely promising and potentially more valuable than LMax, to bother about trying to TO LPD, especially since it has the exclusive licence for LMax in WA.
I would like to see LIT focus virtually entirely on commercialising SiLeach.
